After my dawdling, we thouroughly enjoyed Lowell Observatory.
It was too cloudy to open the big telescope, but I am so thrilled that we were able to take dad finally!
Looking over Route 66.
And the true treat of the evening - we had the honor of hearing a lecture by the son-in-law of Carolyn and Eugene Shoemaker. The discovers of Shoemaker-Levy 9.
He shared stories and pictures of the Apollo missions and the preparation of the moon landing. It was fascinating. He was kind and engaging - a true honor.
Did you know that Eugene Shoemaker is the only person to have ever have their ashes taken to the moon?
Never stop learning friends!
Kate

Looks like a neat place to visit!
