Every anniversary, Mr. B and I write a letter in our children's journal.
After we order our delicious dinner... this year was a steakhouse in Old Town Scottsdale ~ Saddle Ranch ~ we take a few minutes and reflect on our children.
Each year, we add another page of letters to these journals.
I like to sneak glances at past years.
It warms my heart to see my amazing husband and his love for our children.
It makes me giggle to be reminded that Sweet Baby J used to say things like 'Trianga-gle" and that Nate the Great used to say things like "Hold you me".
It only takes us about ten minutes each year and then the journals return to my fireproof safe with the other important documents in my life.
My mother inspired this tradition. When I left for college, she handed me a journal of poems and letters she had written for me through the years. There were many nights I pulled out that journal for comfort and familiarity. Thank you, mom.
I pray that my children find the same peace in their journals.
Have a wonderful day!
Kate
totally jealous of your tradition:) Our anniversary is the 16th. I also have a Nate. he is 15 now and refers to himself as "nate the great" seriously.
