Written December 2012:
the coolest part is that the really awesome moments begin to outweigh the exhaustion
you settle into this wonderful new rhythm and become a new you
it only gets better
you get to adore them
and encourage them
and be their hero
good stuff
you get to race up to school with their ID badge and look like a ninja
This is why I write.
This week has not been easy. I've whispered prayers under my breath. (I wish everything I had whispered this week had been a prayer.)
But not so long ago, my heart was in a different place. I wrote this draft - but now I can't exactly remember why. Maybe I had a post idea at one time.
Or maybe, just maybe, God knew that I would need these words to remind me. Time passes and things change. I want to remember everything - the tough and the sweet.
Why do you write?
Have a great week!
Kate
Love that photo (of course)!
I don't exactly know why I write. It feels good to have done it. Writing by hand (in my journal) seems to help me remember, but that doesn't seem to be true for me on the computer.
Like you, however, I have experienced many times the odd but good moment of my own past words meeting my present need.
So sorry for the tough week, Tatie. Praying for peace, comfort, strength, refreshment, and everything else you need. "Every spiritual blessing in Christ" (Eph. 1)!

I remember sitting in front of my computer and starting my blog. I did it so I could remember the little nuances of everyday life, things I would have looked over or long forgotten if not for a place to keep it. I like to go back and read things I wrote years ago. Most of the time I can remember exactly how I felt as I wrote. And that affirms it for me.

I write because we all have a story to tell. Because my mind doesn't remember every little things. Because some things we ponder in our heart, and some things were meant to be shared. :)
